Key West World Championship Offshore Powerboat Races IIIThe Finals of the 34th annual Key West World Championship Offshore Powerboat Races was over the top crazy and exciting. The last race day has double points and double the course length but due to expected strong winds and thunderstorms the Race Course was shortened to the same as the previous two days. While the skies darkened and threatened rain all day we remained dry. Expecting some big seas we planted ourselves at Fort Zach near turn #2, always the most exciting corner of the race. The strong winds and opposing currents was the recipe for a pounding race with lots of Powerboat acrobatics. The Helicopters were not the only ones in the air. (sample photos & video below)
